Learn to quilt with Mary Berndtson, this 4 class series teaches the person who already knows how to sew the basics of quilting from choosing fabrics,cutting with a rotary cutter to finishing a quilt by hand. This gives you all the foundations for quilting while you complete a table runner. Skills will easily transfer to other projects. Class size is limited so students get lots of attention from Mary who has been quilting for 30 years.

Each month we will teach a different technique. Tools used will be available for purchase however purchase is not required. Bring something at the stage being demo’d and complete that step. The Go Bag taught by Mary Berndtson - Class Fee: $30.00

This is a great next project for the relatively new quilter. It is a cute bag that is simple to construct. Requires 7/8 yd of outer fabric, 7/8 yd of lining and a fat quarter of accent fabric. Pattern and swivel clips are included in the price. Bag will be done at end of class!
Quilt as you Go Braided Table Runner taught by Pat Cosgrove – Class fee: $40.00
Monday March 26 9:30 AM – 2 PM
The Braid Runner is a great looking table runner which is sewn directly on the batting and backing ("quilt as you go"), so after you have finished the piecing there is only binding to complete your project. It uses a 6" square for the center and 6-2 1/2" by 40" strips for the braid. Patterns are available at both Bear Hollow and Colchester Mills; kits are available at Bear Hollow.

Return of a popular class from last year. Uses a Bali Pop/ Jelly Roll or Tonga Strips. Tonga strips & Bali Pops available at Colchester Mills. Jelly Rolls and patterns available at both Bear Hollow and the Mill. Finished quilt size approximately 60 x 72.
Strips and Ladders – taught by Pat Cosgrove - Class Fee : $40.00
Saturday July 21, 9:30AM – 4PM
From a baby quilt to a king sized quilt this pattern using Bali pops or Tonga treats is simply amazing. Learn to do set in seams in a non-intimidating quilt. Have fun with color using the precut strips or cut your own. Cutting service is available using the Accu-cutter for $35 per hour. Pattern is available at Colchester Mills and Bear Hollow. You should be able to complete a baby size that day. Bring a box lunch.

Eva Weber has developed her own Block of the Month wall hanging. It will be debuting at Bear Hollow Quilt Company. These are truly a few of my favorite things...... Batiks are my favorite fabric of all to work with but your project may be scrappy, or themed; 1930’s fabrics, Civil War era, a specific color or anything of your choosing. You only need a background fabric (2 yds will do for top and backing). Dimensional techniques are the next of my favorite things. You will learn how to take many of the classic blocks and give them the added surprise of dimension. Other techniques will include a taste of fabric origami, foundation piecing and embellishments. A border of applique and a smattering of 3-D flowers frame your quilt. The blocks of this project can even be rearranged to create your own design. You will begin to look at the blocks in your future projects and think “ How can I add some dimension to make my quilt unique?”.
Christmas Stocking – taught by Pat Cosgrove – Class Fee: $30.00

The quilted, lined Christmas stocking is fast and easy with beautiful results. The front is pieced from fabric scraps using the quilt as you go method. The cuff of the stocking is attached in a method that finishes the stocking without a lot of fuss. Learn in class and your whole family collection can be done by Christmas!

Christmas in August
The entire month of August the studio will be bustling with Christmas ideas and classes. Fat Quarter Fun will feature a Christmas wall hanging – a kit with Moda fabrics and pattern. There will be classes using Charm Packs and kits available for lots of Christmas projects. Pat will teach you how to make a pillow cover and quick pillowcase. It is never too early to start making Christmas gifts. Check the website for more details and the store for samples in the coming months. There will be extra open sews in August.

Save the third Friday for Fat Quarter Fun. Bring your sewing machine, basic supplies & a hand full of fat quarters - Holly will show you something different to do with them. Please call to reserve your space. Some materials will be provided. Some projects may require pattern purchase. About 7 PM we will stop for a pizza break. Quilting will continue until 9 PM or whenever we all wear out!
Jan and Feb we will be working with Deb Tucker's tools and making the Hunter Star quilt. Can make using 2,3 or 4 fabrics, Both small and large templates/patterns available at the shop. March Pat Cosgrove will be teaching you to paper piece while making a cute flower pot wall hanging.
