Contemporary quilts are easy to care for. When
your quilt arrives, it may have wrinkles in the
folds from the packing process. To remove them,
either toss the quilt into the dryer on air-dry
for about 10 minutes or press your quilt lightly
using an iron set on cotton.
Quilts come with instructions for hanging and
washing.
To ensure longevity, quilts should be washed only
when needed. Quilts should never be stored in
plastic or under glass unless you create air holes.
An air free environment speeds the aging process
of quilts. Fabric needs to breathe.
If a quilt is hanging on a wall, once a year,
you should either vacuum it toss it in the dryer
for 10 minutes of air-drying.
Quilts may be spot cleaned as you would any other
fine fabrics.
When a quilt needs washing, we recommend you wash
it separately in the gentle cycle of your washing
machine, using cold water and Woolite, Quilt Wash
or other gentle detergent.
Quilt may then either be dried in the dryer or
laid on a flat surface to dry. Using the dryer
will result in gentle shrinkage of batting, making
the quilt pucker as you might see in an older
quilt.
Our baby quilts have been washed in Dreft post
construction. This is done to soften them and
prepare them for use with baby immediately upon
receipt.
We wash all our quilts in the washer and dry in
the dryer. Fine contemporary quilts have been
crafted in a manner that makes them quite durable.
We encourage you to love and use them.
